How we use your data

Who we are

WaiFai is a home and small-business Wi-Fi service. We decide what is done with the information below.

What we collect

Your name, phone number, estate, building and unit, and a description of the network problem.

During a visit: speed and signal readings, notes about what we found and did, equipment serial numbers, and photos of the equipment and work. Photos can show part of your home. We only show the photos taken after the work on your own job report.

Payments: the M-Pesa code, amount, and the name M-Pesa shows. We never see your PIN.

On the website: the language you chose and which link brought you here (so we know which advert works). We also count visits without cookies and without keeping your IP address.

Why

To plan visits, message you about your booking, send receipts and job reports, and honour warranties.

If you sign up your building: to show internet providers how many homes want fiber. Providers see building totals only. We share your unit number or phone number with a provider only if you accept that provider’s offer.

Who sees it

Only us. We get booking alerts on our own phone, and we message you by WhatsApp or call. Your data is kept on a private server that we control. We do not sell it or give it to advertisers.

How long we keep it

Job and payment records for 5 years, because tax rules require it. Photos and building sign-ups until you ask us to remove them. Visit counts are kept without anything that identifies you.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time. When you ask us to delete it, we remove your name, phone number, address, notes and photos, and keep only the amounts the tax rules require.

Complaints

If you think we handled your data badly, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya (odpc.go.ke).
